U14 Football team are Welsh Champions

On 20th April our Year 9 football team became Welsh Champions after beating John Bright 2;1 in an action packed final played in Newtown. This fantastic achievement is even more special because not only is it the first time our school has achieved it, but we are only the second team in Gwent/Monmouthshire to achieve it within the last 19 years!

The boys will now go to Dublin next month to represent Wales and play the winners of England, Scotland, ROI, and NI, so we will now be very busy fundraising for this spectacular opportunity.

Well done to all involved, we are very proud of you indeed. We would also like to thank parents and carers who support us in making this possible.

Subject: WSFA Under 14 final

Dear Headteacher

Can I first of all congratulate your school on winning our under 14 competition. It was a very competitive and entertaining contest, with the best team winning!!

Your pupils were a credit to themselves, their parents, their staff and most importantly your school. Their behavior was exemplary and I hope you will congratulate them on our behalf.

I look forward to meeting them again in Dublin at The Alan McKinstry cup in May. Who knows maybe they can be crowned champions of the British Isles!!

Once again congratulations.

John Mann
