Chepstow School chosen to receive W H Smith vouchers

Staff at WHSmith's Chepstow store have nominated Chepstow School as one of the lucky beneficiaries of the 2014 WHSmith Trust Schools Giveaway.  As part of the Giveaway, WHSmith stores will be donating WHSmith vouchers worth £20,000 to over 100 schools around the country.  This initiative gives the schools an opportunity to boost their library and teaching resources for the new school year.

The WHSmith Trust Schools Giveaway builds on the Trust's work to promote literacy and education, as well as supporting WHSmith stores in playing an active role in their local communities.  Staff at WHSmith stores have selected local schools to receive WHSmith vouchers which teaching stafff will be able to put towards new books and stationery products, preparing for the new term in September.


The WHSmith Trust is an independent charity that aims to promote lieteracy and support the local community in which WHSmith staff and customers live and work.  The Trust awards grants to a wide variety of charities and schools around the UK each year.  These grants support the Trust's work to promote literacy and a love of reading.


Local WHSmith store manager Victoria Whitehouse said:  'We're really excited to have the opportunity to support Chepstow School and help to improve thier library facitilies for the beginning of the new school year.  It's also a great way for the staff at WHSmith to get involved with their local community and to build on our work to support improvements in literacy and education.'
