March 2021 - WRU Minecraft Project
KS3 have been involved in an innovative project with the WRU. The mission is to inspire the youth of Wales to be innovative contributors to their communities by embracing our nation’s culture and history, passion for Welsh rugby and creativity using Minecraft with the WRU and Hwb.
Year 7,8,9 are designing and building a new rugby stadium/club in Chepstow. They are producing, researching, scaling drawings and working in teams collaboratively to create their own club of the future. The final design will have a video walk-through of their build showcasing all the features and innovative elements. It enhances cross-curricular skills and authentic learning experiences. There is a clear link to the four purposes of Curriculum for Wales as the project itself links to enterprising creative contributors and ambitious capable learners.
The project will be enriched by a number of innovative, creative and real life skill briefs, which the groups will be working on.
There will be a KS3 assembly on Monday 15th March at 9am, where the learners will be given an overview of the two weeks.
All of the information will be added to the schools website where you will be able to gain a complete oversight of this exciting project.
On Friday 26th March, a ‘showcase’ assembly will show off the work that they have produced.
